Commission: Comic Book Orchestra Night
Brian had been working at Planet Sized Comics for years now, but he could not remember a busier time than in these past two months. Not only was the most basic business of the store kicking up, with many people coming in to buy books and place orders, but he was balancing many other duties. So, Brian was making phone calls to other store to coordinate shipments and getting smaller prints of books they had on hand out and around. Brian was watching the store on his own; it was late on a Saturday and the foot traffic was mostly died down by then. And he had been working at Planet Sized Comics for long enough that he could handle even a mid-sized crowd of shoppers all on his own, and knowing that Jessie trusted him with the store gave him a sense of pride. But she did not leave him alone for no reason. She was going to her latest check-up, since she was three months into her latest surrogacy pregnancy. Though, when Jessie waddled back into the comic book store, you would not think she was only three months along by looking at her. She had a swollen belly, as big as a woman full term with one baby, sticking out in front of her. She was not wearing a graphic print t-shirt like she normally did, instead wearing a white and blue blouse that Carrie gifted to her. But even with a more traditional top on, slivers of Jessie’s pale pregnant belly skin were poking through, since she still insisted on wearing her usual
